Momomi Tea Gathering: Welcoming Spring in Hiroshima
The annual Momomi Tea Ceremony is held at Shukkeien Garden, where vibrant pink peach blossoms are now in full bloom.
At the Seifukan teahouse, guests are served delicate sencha tea prepared in the traditional Sankitei Baisa-ryu style, along with sweets inspired by peach leaves and flowers. The event began 35 years ago to commemorate the replanting of peach trees that were lost in the atomic bombing.
With around 20 peach trees of eight varieties blooming from late March to early April, visitors can enjoy tea, flowers, and the gentle arrival of spring in Hiroshima.
