Safety FAQ
What is ZeMott?
ZeMott is a platform that connects travelers with local hosts in Hiroshima to experience authentic events and festivals together. It’s like Airbnb, but for shared local experiences—think fireworks, matsuri, seasonal celebrations, and neighborhood gatherings.
Is ZeMott safe?
Most ZeMott local experiences are not only safe, but often life-changing and deeply meaningful.
Your safety while traveling is your own responsibility, and this is also true when using ZeMott.
That said, we take your safety very seriously and are committed to creating a trusted community.
Reporting & Safety
How do I report a problem?
Please always submit reports in written form.
All written communication is recorded and used to improve safety measures and platform systems.
Will my report be shared with others?
No. All reports are treated as strictly confidential and are only accessible to the ZeMott operations team.
Exceptions apply only when police involvement or legal action is required.
In some cases, we may issue anonymous warnings to protect other members.
Member-to-Member Issues
What should I do if I have a negative experience?
If your safety is at risk, leave immediately and contact local police or emergency services.
If you are safe, consider the following steps:
Steps to take:
Reflect
Calmly consider whether the issue may have been caused by differences in culture, personality, or communication style.
Communicate
Politely let the other person know what made you uncomfortable. They may not have been aware.
Create distance
If the issue cannot be resolved, end the relationship.
Hosts have the right to ask guests to leave, and guests are always free to leave.
Leave a review
Writing a neutral or negative review is not retaliation — it is an important way to help protect other members.
Emergencies
If your safety is in immediate danger
Leave the situation immediately and contact local police or emergency services.
Once you are in a safe place, report the incident to the ZeMott team with the following information:
- A link to the other member’s profile
- A description of what happened
- Any evidence, such as a police report (if available)
You may also leave a Reference (review) to quickly alert other members.
References (Reviews)
What is a Reference?
A Reference is feedback based on an actual interaction, posted on a member’s profile.
References cannot be edited or deleted by the other user.
Will a member be removed because of a negative review?
No.
References are one of several factors used for assessment. ZeMott does not remove members based on reviews alone.
However, clear violations of the Terms of Service may result in account removal. In some cases, we may issue anonymous warnings to protect other members.
